Sponsorship Information

Thank you for your support of the "Tails of MSP" coffee table book project.  This project will not only appeal to the pet lovers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, but for anyone who loves the Twin Cities and all the places it has to offer.  We can't wait to show it off to the world!

The GOAL

This project's goal is to raise money for non-profit local animal welfare groups by photographing and publishing a coffee table book, "Tails of MSP”.  Partner rescues provide critical services to animals in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.  Each is a non-profit organization run solely by volunteers.

"Tails of MSP” will feature local dogs, cats, lizards, horses (any animal with a tail) in iconic and scenic locations throughout the MSP metro area. A limited number of sessions will be offered. The book will be published in Fall 2022. Donationss from sessions and proceeds from book sales, as well as all money raised from sponsorships, will be donated to partnering rescues.

Bob Dylan Mural (5th Street and Hennepin Ave)

The  vibrant Bob Dylan mural is the largest work of public art that  world-renowned street artist Eduardo Kobra has created in the United  States to date. It is also the most Instagrammed image in Minnesota.  This five-story tribute to Bob Dylan was created in the fall of 2015 as a  private commission.

The beneficiaries

All four rescue organizations taking part in the Tails of MSP fundraiser are non-profit organizations run solely by volunteers.  Each beneficiary will be assigned two separate months of the year.  All sessions booked in these months will benefit that particular organization.  Our beneficiaries include:

Save-A-Bull Rescue

Greyhound Pets of America-MN

UnbreakaBULL

(Fourth to be announced soon)

Edinburgh USA is a public course in Brooklyn Park and  is one of only two  courses in Minnesota designed by world renowned architect, Robert Trent Jones II.

The Timeline

"Tails of MSP" sessions will begin February 1, 2022 and run through September 2022 or until we have 100 sessions scheduled.  Books will then be laid out, proofed, printed and bound.  The goal is to have books in hand before the 2022 holiday season, which would be perfect for gift-giving.   All proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit the partner organizations.

Old Cedar Avenue Bridge, Bloomington

Back when the old structure was the main crossing, heavy traffic delays  would occur because of the bridge's small size and the need to operate  the swing segment to let boat traffic pass.

The History

Tangerine House of Design has been offering fundraising for area rescues for the past 17 years (the past ten years in Minnesota and seven years prior to that in Connecticut).  All together, we've raised nearly $200,000 to support local rescues ($140,000 in MN and $60,000 in CT).  We're pretty proud of this!  We're on a mission to do even better.

Como Zoo and Conservatory

The stunning conservatory gardens include seasonal flower shows,  tropical gardens, orchids, ferns, bonsai and a world renowned Japanese  Garden.

The Concept

Ellen Zangla, a close pet photographer friend in Virginia, offered a book fundraiser in 2019 and was able to raise $25,000 for her beneficiaries.  We believe we can do at least that much! We will model our fundraiser after hers and have the advantage of her guidance and hindsight.  She was kind enough to share some images from her book release party:

Saint Anthony Main, Minneapolis

This area was first discovered in the late 1600s by Father Louis Hennepin when he came across the falls, eventually giving them their name after his patron saint Anthony of Padua.  This hidden gem is characterized by its cobblestone road and is the oldest portion of the city.
